Sarah Schregardus graduated cum laude from the Capital University
School of Law and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2006. While still
in law school, she served as an extern for the Hon. Greg Frost of
the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Ohio, and held
internships with the Ohio Attorney General and the Franklin County
Public Defender. |

After her admission to the Ohio Bar in 2006, Ms. Schregardus
accepted a position with the Office of the Ohio Public Defender, in
its Post-conviction and Appellate/Legal Division. In 2009, she was
assigned to the Prison Legal Services Division at the Correction
Reception Center, where she gained experience in defending felony
offenders charged with parole violations and in post-release control
by the Adult Parole Authority. She also represented inmates, before
the Ohio Parole Board, at contested Open Full Board Hearings. |

Ms. Schregardus has argued in 7 of the 12 Ohio appellate districts
and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Ohio. She has extensive
litigation experience with cases filed under the Adam Walsh Act,
felony criminal appeals, and post-conviction actions. She also has
extensive knowledge of legal matters that affect offenders who are
held in the custody of the ODRC (Ohio Department of Rehabilitation
and Correction). |

In 2010 Ms. Schredgardus opened her private law practice in Columbus
and agreed to serve “of counsel” to Kura & Wilford Co., L.P.A. She
consults with Kura & Wilford, on many cases, and accepts case
assignments on a case-by-case basis. Her law practice focuses on
criminal trials and appeals, and on post-conviction remedies. |

Ms. Schregardus is licensed to practice in all Ohio courts, all Ohio
federal district courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Ohio’s
Sixth Circuit. She is a member of the OACDL (Ohio Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers) and the Central Ohio Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers. She also serves as an Adjunct Instructor
with Wilmington College of Ohio and teaches at the ODRC Franklin
Pre-Release Center. |
