Kura & Wilford Co., L.P.A., founded in November, 1996 by James P.
Kura, Esq. and Barry W. Wilford, Esq., is a criminal defense law
firm. Building upon many years of experience as criminal defense
trial lawyers, Kura and Wilford worked together to develop a unique
law practice—a practice that specializes in post-conviction remedies*
for inmates within the Ohio prison population as well as traditional
criminal defense services. |

Once the practice was established, it quickly became evident that
the need for post-conviction representation, largely ignored by the
traditional criminal defense bar, was overwhelming; the firm would
need additional attorney resources from time to time. It was at this
point that Dennis Pusateri, Esq., a distinguished criminal defense
law practitioner, agreed to serve as counsel for Kura & Wilford Co.,
L.P.A., and provide legal representation on a case-by-case basis. |

Following a year-long battle with cancer, James Kura deceased in
March 1997, but the law practice was carried on by Messrs. Wilford
and Pusateri and continued to establish itself within the ranks of
Ohio’s prison inmate population. In September 2010, Sarah
Schregardus, Esq. joined the firm, serving “as counsel” to Kura &
Wilford, providing representation on a case-by-case basis. |

After 13 years of law practice, Kura & Wilford is now firmly
established within the legal community as the leading Ohio private
law firm regarding post-conviction remedies, and enjoys a strong
reputation within the Ohio inmate population for quality legal
services. As a result, more than 250 Kura & Wilford clients have
been released from Ohio prisons. |
